FRASERS MOUNTAIN Members of the local figure skating community are mourning the passing of Connie Frazee, a longtime coach not only in the area, but across the province.
Frazee, 42,[url=http://www.sport.fr/smartphones/moncler.asp]moncler pas cher[/url], of Frasers Mountain, passed away Monday. She spent her early years in the sport as a competitor, but is probably best remembered as a coach to countless young athletes in Nova Scotia.
"As far as I'm concerned, she was the best," said Karen Moore, past president of the East Pictou Silver Blades Club and one of Frazee's best friends. "We figure skated together since when were kids. It's a huge loss for everyone, because she just poured hours and hours of her life into the sport."
Frazee served as coach for the last two Team Nova Scotia entries at the Canada Winter Games, and instructed several provincial champions during her time. She also paired with local skaters in ice dance as a competitor.
"Connie was a loving mother, and she was one of the most dedicated and hardestworking coaches I know," said Sheri Burns, who coached with Frazee for about 10 years. "She was constantly learning and training to gain more knowledge in the sport, and it's my personal belief that she was one of the best figure skating coaches in the province."
